Accounting Intern
Tech Upgrade is an exciting
start-up company located on the eastside of Milwaukee. We opened our doors in
2004 and continue to grow, despite these tough economic times.
Tech Upgrade
works only with K-12 school districts in the Midwest, selling computer,
software, storage and consumer electronic products. With a product catalog of
over 700,000 products we carry most major brands and consult our School Districts on a variety of projects.
We have an immediate need for an Accounting Intern who is self-driven, has
a start up attitude, and loves to achieve! We want someone who
has an exceptional work ethic and is ready to accept constant new
challenges. Applicants must be able to
work independently and have confidence in their approach to find effective,
creative ways to accomplish assigned tasks. Tech Upgrade is providing an
amazing opportunity for you to build your resume while watching your work

Responsibilities:
· Assist Director of Accounting with Monthly Close
process
· General Ledger Entries
· Enter in and Verify Invoices
· Processing Accounts Payable vouchers
· Working with Account mangers on pre/post sales
issues
· Identifying areas of improvement
· Organization of purchasing and accounting system
· Business
administrative assignments
· Process
purchasing/billings/invoicing for Orders
· Statement reconciliations
· Reconciling Purchase Orders with Payables
· Job Costing
· Credit Card reconciliations
· Collections
·
Other duties as
assigned
Qualifications:
· 0-3 years experience in a business environment
· Accounting/Finance Majors
· Attention to detail
· Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
and QuickBooks preferred
· Comfortable operating independently inside a
fast moving startup environment
· Ability
to multi-task through excellent time management and organizational skills
Internet Marketing/E-commerce Internship
We are also looking for an
individual who is all around internet savvy! Someone interested in working
to discover all the uncovered possibilities of how Tech Upgrade can most
effectively use Channel Online, their virtual warehouse, to maximize business
AS WELL AS a creative mind with a large web-marketing knowledge base, who can
build on and expand our e-commerce market position by redesigning our company
website via GoDaddy web hosting; putting our company on the cutting end of
marketing trends. We need Someone who is a
self-starter, organized and interested in making continual contribution to the
growth and success of Tech Upgrade. Recent grads and college seniors welcome!
Marketing Responsibilities
· Update site
with creative changes
· Plan and executing design, upgrading service;
maintaining high production quality.
· Develops site navigation by categorizing
content; funneling traffic through content.
· Establishes locatability by registering with
search engines.
· Implements internet marketing strategy by
defining all e-commerce content, products, services, programs and promotions
· Develops site content and graphics by
coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons,
banners, audio enhancements, etc.
· Identifies e-commerce trends by researching industry
and related events, publications, and announcements
· Implements marketing and advertising campaigns
· Supports sales staff by providing sales data,
market trends, forecasts, account analyses, new product information
· Protects site by designing and installing
security precautions.
E-commerce Responsibilities:
· Establishes system specifications by conferring
with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security
requirements
· Maintains system performance by performing
system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system
hardware, software, networks and operating and system management systems;
designing and running system load/stress testing; escalating application
problems to vendor.
· Upgrades system by configuring with vendors and
services; developing, testing, evaluating, installing enhancements and new
software.
Qualifications:
· 0-3 Years experience in a business environment
· Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
required
· Must have a graduation date of May 2010 or
January 2011
· Marketing/Supply Chain Major
· Previous internet experience is an advantage
· Comfortable operating independently inside a
fast moving startup environment
· Ability to accomplish multiple projects through excellent time
management and organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills.
